FreeYourBuddy was a video-based ‘advergame’ I developed with GT/VML for a Windows Mobile campaign. Think Subservient Chicken but it’s an Escape Room puzzle.
You can tell him to do silly stuff too, such as dance like a chicken. Somewhere online there’s a walk-through, but it’s more enjoyable to try and solve the puzzles.
There are a few Easter eggs in there and I also localised the game, so Buddy understands 4 different languages and can hopefully piece together even the worst grammar. He is, however, not the sharpest tool in the box.
The game was created in Flash, even though Microsoft obviously wanted it built in Silverlight – their ‘Flash Killer’ that aged like milk. I’ve resurrected the game, but it’s still best experienced on desktop, not mobile.
I’ve obtained the code, but I can’t get Buddy to enter it on the console. Do you know how to do it? Thanks in advance!
Oh, I only just say this… try something like ‘type code into console’, but you need to have access to the panel first… have you completed all the other tasks?
