3 years after its creation by NT Media, Ladbrokes Balls® is still one of the most successful e-gaming products ever. My task when joining NT Media was to adapt their game to work with the bespoke hardware of Cyberview's Cashquest touch-screen gaming kiosks.

Here's the result - click the big red button when it starts up to enter demo mode...

Thousands of these machines are installed in Ladbrokes shops up and down the UK. The challenge was to take an existing product, created exclusively for the web and interface it with the Cashquest API. Also, mouse-rollovers don't work with touch screen technology, so I had to rethink the game-flow and interface design for usability.

Since it's not actually connected to the Cashquest machine, this demo version always assumes you've won, even though there's clearly only 'funny-money' in the machine (you have to imagine that bit :)

The upside of creating things for Cashquest kiosks is there are no file size restrictions, so the real version has much higher quality stereo sound.
