The focus of my work is essentially on making the internet a more interesting place and ensuring that the good ideas happen. I take on the more challenging and innovative projects, where clients usually need help in shaping ideas and building the better user experience.
Here’s some of my favourite work:
David Beckham Academy Games
A multi award-winning games site. The first (and I believe only) of its kind to use chroma-keyed footage of a celebrity in three fully interactive web-based football game. I was drafted in to help develop the ideas, draw up shot lists and supervise the shoot, as well as treat and edit the footage, then build the games themselves.
Gold Night-Driving
A heavily video-based site, where streams of infinitely looping footage intertwine to create a seamless journey tied into a TV ad campaign. Shot on location in L.A. and edited with the help of the flame ops at Framestore. I pulled out all the tricks to deliver the best user experience in the minimum of download size.
Vodafone Mayfly
Using my fetish for maths-driven animation, I built this site years ago for Vodafone, to run a competition alongside their ‘mayfly’TV ad campaign. Users can create their own mayfly, which lives for 24 hours and flies around the jungle environment.
Dinky Bomb
One of the first multi-user online Flash games and a massive success for years, until its recent aquiry by Atari. Users can chat to eachother, pick fights, then settle it in online battle - keeping violence virtual
This Is Living - Playstation 3
Massive award-winning viral campaign site for Sony Playstation 3. Built at LBi/Wheel with a team of Flash and Java developers in early 2007. Replete with boundary pushing animation effects and a rich sound sound-scape, this was a full-on, but ultimately very rewarding project.
